If you have a router you should be able to plug and play after you do the ps3 xmb connection method. Forgot the other way but have linked them by just a ethernet cable before and versed each other. Think it's something along the lines of: 192.168.1.1 (.2 for non-host) 255.255.255.0 (standard subnet mask, not sure if numbering is correct) hmm
